MECHANICVILLE - Margaret Horn Brior, 82, of East Street, died Wednesday, May 30th at home, following a long illness.
A native and lifelong resident of Mechanicville, born March 17, 1935, she was the daughter of the late Charles and Anna Horn.
Margaret was a chemical operator for G.E. Silicones in Waterford for over 20 years, retiring in 1999. Previously she had been a school crossing guard for the Mechanicville Police Dept.
Margaret was a former member of the Salvation Army, and Troop 40, Boy Scouts of America, who enjoyed traveling and looking after her son’s family, siblings and friends.
Survivors include her son Richard E. (Mary) Brior, Jr. of Mechanicville, grandchildren Richard (Stephanie) Brior, III of Durham and Jamie (Tony) Rossi of Mechanicville, along with her great grandson Alarik A. Rossi. Also her two brothers John Horn of Schenectady and Donald (Cindy) Horn of Mechanicville, along with many many nieces, nephews and families.
Predeceased by sisters and husbands Frances and Chet Morelli, Clara and Lyman Proper, Anna LaPlante, Florence and Ed Kaarstad, Patricia Horn and sister-in-law Sandra Horn.
Also brothers and wives Charles and Alice Horn, Clarence and Carol Horn, Harold Horn, and former husband Richard Brior, Sr.
A Funeral Service will be held on Sunday at 5 PM at the DeVito-Salvadore Funeral Home, 39 So. Main St., Mechanicville.
Calling hours at the Funeral Home Sunday from 3-5 PM.
