Patricia A. Mellon (Mellon)
MECHANICVILLE - Patricia Ann Mellon, lifelong resident, died Sunday, Feb. 26th at Saratoga Center, Ballston Spa, after an extended illness.
A native of Mechanicville, born Oct. 8, 1929, daughter of the late Matthew and Elizabeth Mohan Mellon, Pat was a 1946 graduate of Mechanicville High School. She earned her Registered Nursing education at St. Mary’s School of Nursing in Amsterdam, and continues at St. Luke’s School of Nursing in Pittsfield to become a nurse anesthetist.
Nursing her entire work career, she was at the Leonard Hospital of Troy and then for 30 years at Cohoes Memorial Hospital.
A member of St. Paul’s Church and the Dorothy Welch Choral Society, she shared with her brother “Tootie”, a love of Tooties Rolls.
Pat was the last remaining Mellon sibling, being predeceased by her brothers: Lawrence “Mike”, Matthew, Charles “Cha” and James “Tootie” Mellon and her faithful sister Mary Bove.
Survivors include her in-laws Connie Mellon of Stillwater and Frank Bove of Mechanicville. Also many nieces, nephews and their families.
Pat’s family thanks the nurses and aides of Saratoga Center’s A-3 wing for the wonderful care and kindness over the years.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Thursday at 11 AM at All Saints on the Hudson Church, 121 North Main St., Mechanicville, with burial to follow in St. Paul’s Cemetery. Family and friends may call at the Church on Thursday from 10AM till 11 AM.
