MECHANICVILLE - Phyllis E. Costanzo, 66, of Railroad St., died Saturday morning, Jan 28th, at home, after an extended illness, in the loving company of husband and friends.
Born in Bemis Heights, Town of Stillwater, July 18, 1950, she was daughter of the late Franklin and Florence Martin.
Phyllis had been a matron at the Saratoga National Golf Course for several years, and had previously worked at the former Tagson’s Paper Co. and American Linen of Stillwater.
A member of the Saratoga Lake Eagles Lodge and the American Legion Post 1644 Ladies Auxiliary, Phyllis enjoyed solving puzzles, playing cards and bingo. She and her husband took a number of cruises and she loved traveling. Mostly, Phyllis was happiest being in her husbands and best friends company.
Survivors include her longtime boyfriend who she at last married in 2011 Joseph L. Costanzo, Jr or known to many “Joe Coz”, a daughter Brenda Bull and two granddaughters, two sisters Wilma “Willi” Horton of Northville and Freda Gilchrist of Malta, In-laws Steve DeMarco, Carm and Lee Hein and Nancy (Tony Lanzone) Garland all of Mechanicville, along with nieces, nephews and a world of friends.
In addition to her parents, Phyllis was predeceased by her son David Blowers.
A Funeral Mass will be celebrated on Tuesday evening at 6 PM at All Saints on the Hudson Church, 121 North Main St., Mechanicville.
Calling Hours at the North Main St. Church on Tuesday from 3-6 PM.
A Burial service will be held at the Saratoga National Cemetery on Wednesday at 10 AM. Those attending are asked to meet at the Cemetery’s Visitors Center at 9:45 AM.
In lieu of flowers, remembrances may be made to the Rev Joe Scerbo Ministry Center, 52 William St., Mechanicville.
