Obituary for Helen E. Markiewicz (Ward)

MECHANICVILLE - Helen E. Markiewicz, 72, of So. Railroad St., died Thursday morning, Aug. 11th at Samaritan Hospital, Troy after an extended illness.
Born in Ocean City, N.J., Helen lived here most of her married life, to the late E. Ronald Markiewicz, who died May 18, 2015.
Helen had worked for the NY State Dept. of Tax and Finance in Albany for some years.
She was a baker and cake decorator for many years, who enjoyed her life at home with her family.
Survivors include her daughter and caregiver for the past 18 month, Georgianne and husband Rex Gibson of Virginia Beach, Va., son Ed (Michele) Jr. of Mechanicville and daughter Donna (Bob) Martinoli of Pittstown, along with 3 grand and 4 great grandchildren, nieces, nephews and their families.
Helen was also predeceased by siblings George Ward and Lillian Sutton.
An inurnment service will be held Monday at 2 PM at the Saratoga National Cemetery.
There will be not other formal services.
In remembrance, donations appreciated to the Mechanicville-Stillwater Breast Cancer Walk, in care of the DeVito-Salvadore Funeral Home, 39 So. Main St., Mechanicville, 12118.
