Obituary for Armand W. Cureau

Armand W. Cureau
HALFMOON - Armand W. Cureau, 89, formerly of Halfmoon died Sunday, October 29 at the Stratton VA Medical Center after a brief illness. Born May 22, 1928 in Tarrytown, NY, he was the son of the late Francis and Blanche Cureau and brother of the late Frank (Helen) Cureau.
A talented multi-sport athlete in high school, he attended Northwestern University where he played football and was a member of the 1949 Rose Bowl Championship Team. He was a banker by profession following in the footsteps of his father and worked at Chase Manhattan Bank in Panama, Bankers Trust Company in New York and ended his career in banking in Dallas-Ft. Worth. He was proud of his service in the Naval Air Corps in Pensacola during the Korean War where he discovered his love of airplanes which was only equaled by his love of cars.
Armand is survived by his wife Beatrice Donnelly Cureau, sons Peter (Mary Anne) Cureau, Steven (Kathy) Cureau, daughter Aimee Kearns, three grandsons, Ryan Cureau, Chase Cureau and Tyler Cureau and sister Lynne Cureau Carrigan.
The family would like to extend their sincere thanks to the doctors and staff at the Albany VA who took such excellent care of Armand over the last several years. They became an extended family to us and we appreciate the care and compassion they showed to Armand.
Friends and family are invited to attend a burial service with military honors at the Saratoga National Cemetery on Thursday at 11 AM. Those wishing to attend are asked to arrive at the Cemetery at 10:45 AM
In lieu of flowers, remembrances may be made to the Albany Veterans Hospital Patients Activity Fund, 113 Holland Ave., Albany, NY 12208, in respectful memory of Armand W. Cureau.
