John J.  Rosko
STILLWATER - John J. Rosko, 93, of No. Hudson Ave, died Tuesday, May 30th at Schuyler Ridge facility after a brief illness.
Born in Riverside, Dec 23, 1923, son of the late George and Mary Husband Rosko, John served in WWII with the US Army as a corporal in the 337th Signal Corps throughout the European Theatre of Operations.
A chemical operator and foreman at the G.E. Silicone plant in Waterford for many years, he retired in 1983. He also operated Rosko Refrigeration services, for many years, servicing many taverns, restaurants and family homes.
Well self educated in the Stock Market, John had an uncanny knack of picking the right companies to invest in, and shared his knowledge with many.
A long time accordion player, John had fun played for family and friends gatherings.
He was a member of Henry F. Lefko American Legion Post 1644 of Riverside and was a communicant of St. Peter’s Church in Stillwater.
Survivors include his wife of almost 72 years, Nancy DiDomenico Rosko, along with niece, nephews and their families.
John was predeceased by his sister Mary Waz and brothers Peter, Joseph, Michael and George Rosko.
A service will be held on Tuesday at 10 AM at DeVito-Salvadore Funeral Home, 39 So. Main St., Mechanicville. Burial with military honors at Saratoga National Cemetery.
Calling hour at the Funeral Home Tuesday from 9-10 AM
In lieu of flowers, remembrances may be made to Community Hospice.
