STILLWATER - Mrs. E. Marie Lewis, 91, died Friday Dec. 23rd at Wesley Health Care of Saratoga Springs, after an extended illness.
A native and lifelong resident of Stillwater, born Oct. 8, 1925, daughter of the late Walter and Ellen Hanehan, Marie was a homemaker, who spent a number of years assisted in her family business, Snap’s Grocery Store in Stillwater, and had also been a secretary at the former Tagsons Mill in Mechanicville. She was a faithful member of All Saints on the Hudson (St. Peter’s) Church of Stillwater.
She was predeceased by her husband George “Snap” Lewis in 1987, he son Michael in 2010 and brothers Michael, Joseph, Robert and William Hanehan.
Survivors include her children: son William (Cheryl) Lewis of Malta, and daughters Mary Ellen (Biff) Baker, Cathy (Artie) Baker and Ann Marie (Danny) Patenaude all of Stillwater, grandchildren: Kathleen Lewis, Amy Mahoney, Amber Paffen, Michael Baker and Paige (John) Thomas along with 2 great grandsons Tyler and Colby Paffen, nieces, nephews and their families.
Friends are invited to a Mass of Christian Burial at All Saints on the Hudson Church, 895 Hudson Ave., Stillwater on Monday at 11 AM, with burial to follow in St. Peter’s Cemetery. There will be no calling hours.
