MECHANICVILLE - Mary B. Ruggiero, 92, died Monday October 3rd, at Albany Medical Center, with her loving family at her side. Mary and her husband Joe owned and operated the former Mechanicivlle Modern Lumber from 1956 until retiring in 2001. A perfect duo, Mary and Joe complemented each other, she handled the business side of things while Joe used his carpentry skills to assist many who came through their store. They spent their career serving their community and contributing to the good of others. They proudly were truly more concerned in serving the people than running a business.
Mary was a member of the Assumption-St. Paul Parish in Mechanicville. She was a great cook and loved spending time with her family. She always called her daughters her “3 Jewels” and was so proud of their accomplishments and their families and her grand and great grandchildren were the world to her.
Mary also enjoyed traveling throughout the world with her husband Joe. They visited many different countries near and far. She was most proud of their trips back to Italy, where they visited each of their family’s hometowns. She also loved the times spent at the family camp on Saratoga Lake.
Mary was predeceased by her husband of 64 years, Joseph M. Ruggiero in 2011, brothers Mario and Edward Pierpaoli and her infant twin brother Guilio.
